Using Argan Oil

How to use Argan oil for hair
How much Argan oil should I use?

The amount needed varies from one person to another depending on hair type, condition, and length.

It is an individual adjustment process. It might take a few applications to find the ideal amount for your hair.

We recommend the following for beginners:

  • Experiment with small amounts first; 1-2 drops or less, and then increase gradually if needed. Our droppers have been carefully chosen to allow for dispensing of small amounts without any waste

Argan oil for hair styling:

No matter the style you are going for, no matter your hair type: dry, brittle, unmanageable, frizzy, thin, thick, coarse, straight, wavy, curly, or coily.  Argan oil will add shine, tame frizz, help straighten your hair, or enhance your natural curls.

Apply Argan oil for a natural, flexible, long lasting hold. Without stiffness or stickiness your style will stay in place all day long.

To eliminate contact friction and prevent hair breakage, apply Argan oil to wet hair prior to using a round brush and a hair dryer to straighten wavy hair.

Apply Argan oil to enhance curls and boost volume prior to using a curling iron.

Or to simply air dry and manually style for a polished natural look.

The best part is that Argan oil does not just provide long lasting, weightless-hold styling, it also nourishes and protects hair from thermal styling and environmental factors.

Style your hair with Argan oil in 3 easy steps:

  • Dry your wet clean hair with a towel until damp
  • Apply the appropriate amount for your hair on your palms and rub it gently into your hair from ends to roots.  Go very light on the roots
  • Style hair as desired

You can apply Argan oil on dry hair as well. However if you use heat styling tools to dry your hair, it is recommended to apply Argan oil first to protect it from thermal styling damage.

Extra fine thin hair:

To boost volume on fine thin hair without weighing it down, you must use Argan oil sparingly!

  • Spray less than one drop on your hand palms
  • Rub it on your face and body parts
  • Rub the leftovers on your hair by touching it lightly from ends to roots

Thick curly hair/ Afro American Hair

Apply generous amounts of Argan oil to enhance natural curls/coils.

  • Dry your wet clean hair with a towel until damp
  • Take a section of hair and rub Argan oil into it starting at the ends. The amount of Argan oil depends on the length and thickness of the hair section. Remember small sections are usually easier to work with and often curl better
  • Repeat process until all hair sections are done
  • Style as usual

Argan oil as a Deep Leave-In Treatment

Frequent coloring, styling, and washing is damaging to hair.

You must apply a deep repair treatment once a week to replenish and rehydrate your hair.

To moisturize brittle parched hair back to vitality please follow these steps:

  • Take a section of hair and rub a generous amount of Argan oil into it starting at the roots and down to the ends. The amount of Argan oil depends on the length and thickness of the hair section as well as on your hair condition
  • Repeat process until all hair sections are done
  • Apply more Argan oil on your finger tips and gently massage the oil in small circular movements deeply into your scalp
  • Leave Argan oil in for 1-3 hours and wash with a gentle shampoo
  • To restore brittle damaged hair, it is recommended to leave it overnight
  • Repeat at least once a week or more frequently depending on your hair condition

Argan oil as a Hair-Growth-Treatment

Before using any treatments on your scalp you must always clean it thoroughly and make sure your pores are free from clogging impurities which inhibit the growth of new hair and constitute a barrier for the treatment to penetrate easily and deeply.

Argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids which is used to repair and create tissue in the body and stimulate skin and hair growth.

  • Exfoliate your scalp.
  • Wash your hair and dry it until damp with a soft towel
  • Apply Argan oil on your finger tips and massage it gently in slow circular movements deeply into your scalp for 10-15 minutes
  • Repeat 1-3 times a week

Can I use Argan oil on my dry itchy scalp?

Argan oil has proven to be efficient in the treatment of several scalp conditions; such as seborrhea, dandruff, psoriasis, dermatitis, itchy scalp, and oily scalp.

Several scalp conditions are associated with sebum; over-production of skin’s natural oil.

Please follow these steps:

  • Always remove excess sebum, dead skin cells and other pore clogging impurities prior to applying Argan oil on your scalp. Clogged pores cause hair loss and prevent Argan oil from penetrating easily and deeply into your skin.
  • To remove excess sebum, exfoliate your scalp.
  •  Apply Argan oil on your finger tips and massage it deeply into your scalp for 10 minutes
  • Repeat 2-3 times a week, depending on how severe your scalp condition is
  • Continue applications until healing is achieved

Took a chance on this product and it is seriously one of the best decisions of my life. I have struggled with acne now for over 6 years, and it has been a very hard losing battle. I have tried many…MANY different products, medicines, dermatology visits, and washes, and nothing has ever worked until now. I simply wash my face with the Argan soap and then apply the oil. It is so simple to use and I have gotten so many compliments on how smooth my face looks and how fast it has improved. Heaven sent product!

My hair is extra fine and thin so I’m always looking for ways to add volume. I like that Argan hair oil won’t weigh my hair down. Maybe I could find some Argan hair oil from Morocco to pray on my hands. Thanks!
